The Swift Tagging API aims to provide a learning NLP based relevancy filter/tagger/classifier that is applied to the various information sources that Swift aggregates (RSS, twitter, SMS). SiLCC uses active learning algorithms to learn over time. This Slideshare document is a great overview of the technology behind SiLCC and the methods it uses for parsing and classifying tweets and text messages. SiLCC can be called from any programming language.
